Explore a variety of new Web 2.0 software tools that may assist you and others in the field of educational technology and as general computer users. Provide a complete description of these tools and share the information with the class. Select tools that are new to you.
The purpose of this assignment is to identify and become familiar with the plethora of Web 2.0 software tools that will be useful to you in your personal and/or professional life. There are hundreds of such tools available and many are added each day. We will focus on web-based applications; do not choose downloadable tools (even of the Web 2.0 genre). See links to examples of Web 2.0 tools below.
Extra! If you wish to select downloadable apps for the iPhone iOS or Android OS or other smartphone operating system, that is permitted. You may choose up to three of those. Again, choose tools that are new to you.
You will identify a total of ten Web 2.0 tools. For each, complete the following summary information:
Title
Author/Publisher/Creator
URL or Source for the Tool
Category - State the category and try to group your tools into categories if possible (e.g., audio, graphics, video, etc)
Technical Information - Include the operating systems and any other special technology requirements that are needed to use this tool.
Description - This can usually be done in a paragraph or two. If you use a direct quote from the web site or documentation, please include it in quotation marks and give a citation if the source is not obvious.
Use - Add a note to include your personal experience with the tool, how you could use it, and other information that would be helpful to others considering it.
